Why this blog exists

This blog is meant to promote healthy spiritual hearts, minds, and souls. It’s also to care for the earth God gave us. Now I’m gonna write down each category of the blog and describe it further.

Heart-This portion of the blog will be there to stimulate our growth and a relationship with our God, through Jesus the promised Messiah, with short portions of scripture and comments.

Mind-This portion of the blog will be dedicated to stimulating our minds with poems, witty sayings, and maybe some puzzles.

Soul-This portion of the blog will stimulate healthy eating, with recipes and to introduce people to organic foods and all-natural remedies.

The Earth God Gave Us-This portion of the blog will encourage people to recycle, use more green technologies, and eco-friendly products, because God gave us this earth to take care of it. We need to be careful to worship the creator and not the creation. This will blog will not promote the hugging of trees.

1.3 Soul - Just eat it

Here’s the first post for the soul category!

Do you realize a big portion of food you find at the store is not good for you? For a long time I thought organic food was just craziness. I said to myself, “All food is organic!” Boy was I wrong.

Later in life, I found out organic food is raised and farmed differently. They don’t use pesticides or harsh chemicals, growth hormones, or fake anything.

If you go to a major market, the majority of the stuff you see there will have pesticides, harsh chemicals, growth hormones, and all kinds of things you can’t pronounce.

So I’m gonna give you some pointers on how to get started. They start on eating a little healthier. I know we can’t always eat organic food, because it’s expensive. But here are a few little steps to help you.

1. Read ingredient labels.
2. Avoid foods made with bleached wheat. Most labels specifically say, “unbleached wheat” or “Whole wheat.” I don’t know about other people but bleached wheat flour makes my heart beat faster and short of breath.
3. Avoid foods with hydrogenated oils.
4. Avoid foods with corn syrup in them.
5. Avoid foods with artificial colors or flavors.
6. Avoid artificial sweeteners. They usually have aspartame or other things like that. And aspartame is made from wood alcohol and very deadly for your body.
7. And the hardest one of all. Try and avoid lots of sugar. This one’s a hard one to swallow but cane sugar is not good for you, but there are many natural sweetening alternatives. There’s honey, agave syrup, Stevia, fruit juice not from concentrate or no sugar added, and finally palm sugar.

I’m no doctor or expert. These are just my helpful opinions. I do know our bodies our the temple of the Lord and we need to respect them and take care of them. Eating healthy is just one way to do it.
