For those of you who don’t know, I’m in a wheelchair, and I need something that’s easy to eat, that won’t cause me to choke, that’s nutritional, and of course tastes good. So I like to share with you a recipe I came up with, where I took a protein shake and altered it to have a the consistency of a mousse or instant jello cheesecake. Other people who are handicapped, who have a hard time eating, this might be a solution for you, too. I don’t do this for every meal, but it helps.
Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients:
1 heaping teaspoon of Great Lake unflavored Gelatin or one packet of knoxx unflavored Gelatin. A pack of Nature’s Plus Spiru-tein High protein Energy shake any flavor. (Other protein shakes would probably work as well. You’ll have to experiment)
Step one: Boil or microwave 4 oz. of water. Then put in Great Lake Gelatin. Stir until dissolved or use one pack of Knoxx and boil 8 oz. of water.
Step two: Put Great Lake gelatin water in blender. Add additional 4 oz. of any liquid of your choice or 4 oz. of Knoxx gelatin, so you’ll have 4 oz. left because Knoxx makes two shakes so add 4 oz of any liquid of your choice with 4 oz of Knoxx.
Step three: Add one packet of protein shake into blender with the liquid you of your choice blend altogether. When done blending put in container. Then refrigerate overnight.
